Abstract(s)
combatendo assimetrias regionais.
ABSTRACT: More and more, Cultural Tourism assumes greater promotion, being one of the market segments that had the greatest growth in recent years (OMT, 2015). Storytelling is essential in experiences lived in Cultural Tourism and has assumed a determining role in tourist consumption (Rodrigues & Corazon, 2011). Stories, emotions, sharing and belonging are part of being human. With the emergence of a type of tourist demand based on experience, with special emphasis on guided tours, Storytelling becomes a fundamental part of this tourist experience, with the power to turn the past into the present, becoming a unique product and responsible catalyst by the connection between residents and tourists (Frias, Silva & Seabra, 2017). In this Master's Project a study was carried out in one of the parishes of the municipality of Castro Daire, the parish of Cabril, in order to verify if there was potential for the implementation of the Storytelling product, as well as checking the receptivity of residents in being the accountants themselves of legends and stories within their territories. The methodology followed in this Master's Project was qualitative, with the application of 22 interviews to residents of the parish of Cabril. In the responses, there was unanimity among the interviewees regarding the benefits that the growth of tourism can bring to economic and social development, establishing people and combating regional asymmetries. All interviewees recognize great potential for the implementation of Storytelling, showing willingness to tell legends and stories to visitors, thus assuming the role of tourist guides.
