Abstract(s)
The literature review points to the potential contributions of music in the development of children with Cerebral Palsy. A single-subject Case Study was developed with the following research question: “What are the benefits of music in the development of capacities and the process of inclusion of a child with Cerebral Palsy?” A Teacher, an Occupational Speech Therapist, a Physiotherapist, a Speech Therapist and the grandmother of a child aged 10 years and 11 months with spastic Cerebral Palsy were interviewed. Semi-structured interview guides were constructed for the study, based on the literature review and the research’ objectives. A documental analysis of the child's clinical and school process was also carried out. In line with the reviewed literature, the results obtained through content analysis allow us to conclude that, from the perspective of the participants, the use of music helped in the social, cognitive, and motor development of the child.
