Abstract(s)
Introdução: Os enfermeiros têm um papel importante na educação para a saúde, tanto em contexto
individual, como comunitário, para melhorar os resultados positivos em matéria de saúde e a eficácia
global da promoção da literacia em saúde. No caso concreto, sobre as alergias alimentares, um
problema significativo em ambiente escolar. Consequentemente, a capacidade da comunidade
educativa para reconhecer e lidar com as reações alérgicas é de importância fundamental para proteger
a saúde das crianças. Objetivos: Avaliar qual o nível de conhecimentos em alergias alimentares dos
docentes e não docentes de um Agrupamento de Escolas do concelho de Viseu; verificar se existe
relação entre o conhecimento sobre alergias alimentares, as funções exercidas e o nível de ensino do
estabelecimento escolar. Métodos: Estudo quantitativo, transversal, descritivo-correlacional. Amostra
com 197 participantes, maior representatividade de docentes (52,8%). Aplicação de um questionário
de caracterização profissional e Questionário Ferramenta de Avaliação de Conhecimentos em Alergia
Alimentar nas Escolas (Inês et al., 2020). Resultados: Os docentes revelam um nível de conhecimento
sobre alergias alimentares ligeiramente mais elevado (M=9,35±3,11) do que os não docentes
(M=9,28±3,37); 37,6% dos participantes possuem elevados conhecimentos (37,6%), 34,5%
moderados e 27,9% baixos conhecimentos; os que exercem funções no pré-escolar (OM=116,67) e no
2.º ciclo do ensino básico (OM=102,50) possuem mais conhecimentos (p=0,016). Conclusão: Os
resultados indicam a necessidade de ações de formação sobre alergias alimentares nas escolas, em
particular a comunicação de informações práticas relativas à gestão de alergias e emergências. É
aconselhável, em particular, uma maior comunicação entre o Enfermeiro de Saúde Escolar e a
comunidade educativa.

In the concrete case, about food allergies, a significant problem in the school environment. Consequently, the ability of the educational community to recognize and deal with allergic reactions is of fundamental importance to protect children's health. Objectives: To evaluate the level of knowledge in food allergies of teachers and non-teachers of a School Group in the municipality of Viseu; to verify if there is a relationship between the knowledge about food allergies, the functions performed and the level of education of the school establishment. Methods: This is a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational study. Sample with 197 participants, higher representation of teachers (52.8%). Application of a professional characterization questionnaire and the Food Allergy Knowledge Assessment Tool in Schools Questionnaire (Inês et al., 2020). Results: Teachers reveal a slightly higher level of knowledge about food allergies (M=9.35±3.11) than non-teachers (M=9.28±3.37); 37.6% of the participants had high knowledge (37.6%), 34.5% moderate and 27.9% low knowledge; those who perform functions in pre-school (OM=116.67) and in the 2nd cycle of basic education (OM=102.50) have more knowledge (p=0.016). Conclusion: The results indicate the need for training actions on food allergies in schools, in particular the communication of practical information regarding the management of allergies and emergencies. It is advisable, in particular, a greater communication between the School Health Nurse and the educational community.
