Abstract(s)
do Turismo.
ABSTRACT: An internship was carried out at the World of Wine, located in Vila Nova de Gaia (Porto) as part of the 2nd year of the Masters in Tourism Management, at the School of Technology and Management of Viseu, at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu. In this cultural quarter, it was given the opportunity to work at the Wine School, a space dedicated in promoting workshops and other events related to wine education, from planting the vine and the entire subsequent process until reaching the glass. The main motivation of the internship was the application of the theoretical knowledge acquired during the first curricular year. In a work context, it was possible to obtain experience, practice and, consequently, skills and abilities that ensured a contribution in the Tourism sector. The importance of choosing the internship modality at the Wine School focused on the fact that Wine Tourism is a key type of tourism in Portugal, associating the excellent wine product with training and education, guaranteeing a quality trilogy. On the other hand, and because Tourism is experiencing atypical moments thanks to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it gave the opportunity to be in contact with innovative solutions that are constantly being developed for the maintenance and survival of the Wine Tourism sector (base topic of the study), guaranteeing customers a new concept of Quality, in an environment where Hygiene and Safety are central issues.
