- The Bologna reform: national study on the perception and opinion of Portuguese higher education teachersPublication . Gouveia Antunes, Sandra Maria; Guedes, Anabela; FERREIRA LOUSADO, JOSÉ PAULO; Marques dos Santos, Paula AlexandraThis study aims to find out the perception of Portuguese higher education teachers about the adaptation processes adopted by national institutions to meet the challenges posed by the Bologna Reform and their opinion on the effects generated by the reforms undertaken. From a theoretical point of view, we made use of neo-institutionalism and the theory of practical action which emphasizes a cognitive perspective of professional action from an affective and evaluative perspective, considering the influence of normative schemes and pre-conscious processes that are transformed into routine behavior, internalized, and rebound into practical action. The methodological design ensured the representativeness of the higher education subsystems in the sample set, and the quota sample comprised 381 Portuguese higher education teachers. To gather data, a questionnaire survey was sent to all higher education institutions and various national bodies, using Google technology. The data analysis and the statistical treatment of the data collected were possible due to IBM SPSS Statistics software, version 21.0, using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results suggest the objectives aimed at with the Bologna Reform were only partially achieved, especially those referring to the development of students' professional and research skills, linked to the degree structure and the Bologna curricular reform, which were evaluated by a not insignificant number of teachers as not being achieved. The comparison of the results according to the sub-systems to which the teachers belong has made it possible to find out that, despite the low explanatory power that the type of education sub-system has on the differences registered in the perceptions built by their teachers around the Bologna Reform, there are statistically relevant differences between the perceptions of the various groups of teachers which suggest that teachers from private sector institutions felt more impact and more change because of the Reform than teachers from public higher education institutions. The results showed that within the private higher education sector, the teachers from the polytechnic institutions were the ones who presented the "strongest" perceptions regarding the scope registered by implementing the various Bologna dimensions, their implementation in the teaching-learning processes and regarding the globally perceived implementation of the Reform.

- Co-creation & design ¿ Living heritage routes project: memories itineraries for the city of LamegoPublication . Fernandes, Didiana; Marques dos Santos, Paula Alexandra; Pereira Vieira, Isabel CristinaThe “Living heritage routes” project aims to interpret a given geographical area for tourism - the city of Lamego - based on the visual/oral perceptions and memories of the residents, so that it is possible to create tourist proposals, based on co-creation, that involve the local community, students and cultural agents through the ontemporary interpretation of the space. The project has three istinct phases: 1st survey of the material and immaterial cultural heritage; 2nd elaboration of tourist itineraries and 3rd realization of an event that promotes and divulges the project - through a historical recreation of the space. The main objectives of this study were to involve the local population in projects that aim to recover and promote the local tangible and intangible cultural heritage. We believe that it is possible to create new cultural and artistic products, such as thematic itineraries, based on the image, perceptions and memories of the resident population, which can attract more visitors, improving the development of sustainable tourism aimed at local culture promoting. The methodology of this project, as far as its 1st phase is concerned, went through a qualitative approach, using mental maps, accompanied by interview, as a method of enquiry, in order to understand the local community's perception of their urban space. The analysis and interpretation of the mental maps will follow the methodology presented by Kozel (2007). The results obtained through a first analysis of the interviews and the mental maps, applied to 40 residents of the city of Lamego from four different age groups allowed, in a first preliminary analysis, the identification of new natural and cultural tangible and intangible heritage resources, as well as the identification of several points connected to the singularity and identity of the city and its districts. It was also clear that the connection of residents to their districts influences the way they perceive the city, as well as its symbolic and representational icons. The results reinforce the importance of involving residents, in the cocreation of heritage tourism products, allowing the construction and renewal of the tourism offer in small historical towns

- The Importance of Diagnosing Before PlanningPublication . Marques dos Santos, Paula Alexandra; Guedes, AnabelaAny organisation wants to achieve success and, to do so, it needs to follow a set of steps to maximise that goal. Although non-profit organisations do not pursue profit as their central objective, they must be sustainable in the medium and long term and therefore need to apply all the tools available to guarantee this. The main aim of this chapter is to propose a diagnosis survey to help the gathering/systematisation of all the needed information regarding internal environment in non-profit organisations. After a brief theoretical conceptualisation, some tools to support the external environment analysis – general and task environment – will be presented and explained. As we also need a tool that helps internal organisation's analysis, it will be presented our innovative diagnosis survey proposal. Finally, we also aim to analyse and explain two different tools to summarize external and internal environment analyses - the SWOT analysis and the problem tree.
- O impacto dos mapas mentais na cocriação de vivências culturais e projetos de cooperação: projeto Living HeritagePublication . Pereira Vieira, Isabel Cristina; Fernandes, Didiana; Marques dos Santos, Paula AlexandraThis study aims to explain the importance of applying mental maps toa community as a research tool that allows the co‐creation of cultural tourismexperiences. Therefore, this research identifies and evaluates residents'visual/oral perceptions and memories to map and model, through contentanalysis, the interviews conducted with residents. In its final phase, theproject allowed the involvement of the local community, students and culturalagents through a contemporary recreation/interpretation of the space.Interviews and mental maps were applied to 32 residents of the town ofLamego, of four different age groups, in 4 distinct neighbourhoods. The 64maps collected allowed the identification of new natural and culturalresources of tangible and intangible heritage, as well as the recognition ofseveral points linked to the singularity and identity of the town and itsneighbourhood, which allowed the creation of new itineraries. It was concludedthat the connection of residents to their neighbourhood influenceshow they perceive the city and its symbolic and representational icons. Finally, it was possible through a participatory project to co‐create heritagetourism products, allowing the construction and renewal of the tourismoffer in small historical towns.
