Abstract(s)
This final internship report is an essential part of the Master's Degree in Teaching Visual and Technological Education in Basic Education, awarded by the Escola Superior de Educação de Viseu. It is divided into two parts, the first of which includes a contextualisation of the placements conducted, followed by a critical analysis of the lessons learnt as part of the Supervised Teaching Practice. The second part summarises the research conducted as part of the Technological Education subject on the teaching of photography and its potential as an artistic and technological language and tool in a 'knowing by doing' teaching approach. The aim is to use it as a suitable resource in the teaching of Technological Education. With the development of technology, there are significant advances every day that cannot be separated from teaching/learning. We wanted to find out the opinion of technology education teachers at a national level on this issue. To conduct this research, it was essential to review the specialist literature on the subject under study, using books, articles and publications. Regarding the experimental part, conducted with a class of 5th graders, a qualitative methodology was used, as the aim was neither to generalise nor to quantify the data obtained. It was an enriching activity in which the students used the smartphone as a teaching tool in the classroom, learning how to take better quality digital photographs and the vicissitudes associated with photographic language.
