- The Use of ICT to Cultural Heritage Promotion—Anita Garibaldi Case StudyPublication . The demand for consumer attention in today’s information and leisure society transforms the cultural market into an environment of competition, generating challenges that require the establishment of strategies and the use of innovative resources. Our work intends to show how ICT can be used to map, organize and promote the cultural heritage about Anita Garibaldi heroe, existing in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The result of our research will show how ICT tools allow: an interactive integration between the public in general, the Garibaldi’s collection and the institutions that preserve most of the collection; data storage; networking; projects registration as well as initiatives dissemination. In addition, it will propose a service that overcomes the barrier of collections in physical support to the digital environment, adapting the cultural offer to a changing society and promoting the democratization of access
- The Bologna reform: national study on the perception and opinion of Portuguese higher education teachersPublication . Gouveia Antunes, Sandra Maria; Guedes, Anabela; FERREIRA LOUSADO, JOSÉ PAULO; Marques dos Santos, Paula AlexandraThis study aims to find out the perception of Portuguese higher education teachers about the adaptation processes adopted by national institutions to meet the challenges posed by the Bologna Reform and their opinion on the effects generated by the reforms undertaken. From a theoretical point of view, we made use of neo-institutionalism and the theory of practical action which emphasizes a cognitive perspective of professional action from an affective and evaluative perspective, considering the influence of normative schemes and pre-conscious processes that are transformed into routine behavior, internalized, and rebound into practical action. The methodological design ensured the representativeness of the higher education subsystems in the sample set, and the quota sample comprised 381 Portuguese higher education teachers. To gather data, a questionnaire survey was sent to all higher education institutions and various national bodies, using Google technology. The data analysis and the statistical treatment of the data collected were possible due to IBM SPSS Statistics software, version 21.0, using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results suggest the objectives aimed at with the Bologna Reform were only partially achieved, especially those referring to the development of students' professional and research skills, linked to the degree structure and the Bologna curricular reform, which were evaluated by a not insignificant number of teachers as not being achieved. The comparison of the results according to the sub-systems to which the teachers belong has made it possible to find out that, despite the low explanatory power that the type of education sub-system has on the differences registered in the perceptions built by their teachers around the Bologna Reform, there are statistically relevant differences between the perceptions of the various groups of teachers which suggest that teachers from private sector institutions felt more impact and more change because of the Reform than teachers from public higher education institutions. The results showed that within the private higher education sector, the teachers from the polytechnic institutions were the ones who presented the "strongest" perceptions regarding the scope registered by implementing the various Bologna dimensions, their implementation in the teaching-learning processes and regarding the globally perceived implementation of the Reform.
- PROBLEM-SOLVING METHODOLOGY - THE ILUSTRE CASA DE RAMIRES PROJECT PROPOSALPublication . Marques Dos Santos, Paula; Araújo, Carlos; Barrosa, Paulo; Dias, Xavierconstant vicissitudes arising from competition, economic and social crises and the need to develop solutions based on efficiency and sustainability, require the professionals of the future to have a critical thinking capacity and skills that enable them to use the abstract scientific and technical knowledge they have acquired to solve concrete situations and problems. These are the skills that organizations expect from higher education training. The project proposal we present in our paper, was developed as part of the Cultural Management unit assessment, in the Tourism, Cultural and Heritage Management degree. Its main objective was to challenge the students to apply the knowledge they had acquired and to develop feasible proposals for the preservation and profitability of the built cultural heritage.

Marques Dos Santos, Paula; Santos, Daniela; Lopes, Mariana; Silva, MónicaTeaching in higher education is a constant challenge, as it requires not only permanent updating, but also the search for and implementation of the most appropriate methodologies that enable the transmission of scientific and technical knowledge to students and their training to apply abstract knowledge to concrete situations in the future profession. The project proposal we present in our paper, was developed as part of the Cultural Management unit’s assessment. Its main objective was to challenge the students to apply the knowledge they had acquired and to develop feasible proposals for the sustainability of the territory and profitability of all the available resources. Therefore, in this paper we present not only the learning path taken throughout the semester, but also the results achieved. The cultural management project proposal for the Commercial Port of Cambres that we intend to present succeeds in transforming this facility into a driving force for the development of the entire surrounding area and, through the action proposal, it will also contribute to tourism sustainability itself, creating synergies between the built cultural heritage and the natural heritage of the municipality of Lamego, located in the Douro demarcated wine region, a world heritage site, since 2001, in Portugal. Neste artigo, investigam-se os fundamentos teóricos e orientações éticas da Responsabilidade Social, esta que aqui é sempre analisada a partir dos fundamentos éticos e que busca na filosofia moral e na teoria dos valores humanos esclarecimentos que permitam definir o conceito e assumindo que deverá ser feita uma análise ao pensamento moral do gestor enquanto responsável organizacional com poder de decisão relevante na empresa, já que é o gestor, enquanto agente central do processo que envolve a adoção, por parte da empresa/instituição, de práticas /políticas alinhadas com as expectativas e necessidades da sociedade.
- Sustentabilidade das Organizações sociais – o impacto dos programas de financiamentoPublication . Santos, Paula; Soeiro De Carvalho, Ana BrancaPerante os novos desafios que se colocam à viabilidade das organizações sociais, ao nível da União Europeia e das mudanças legislativas portuguesas que enformam a Economia Social, urge repensar a sustentabilidade das organizações sociais. Assim, pretende-se com este artigo analisar o impacto dos programas de financiamento na capacidade das organizações sociais para responder às necessidades sociais, bem como para garantir a sua viabilidade financeira. Além de procurarmos apresentar uma fundamentação teórica acerca das políticas sociais e da economia social, iremos apresentar um estudo de caso sobre uma IPSS da região norte do país, evidenciando as consequências positivas e/ou negativas dos programas de financiamento, nos últimos anos nessa organização. A recolha de dados foi realizada através de observação participante e a utilização de uma checklist, recorrendo ainda a documentação interna da organização para conseguirmos delimitar o universo em estudo.
- Implementação de ferramentas de gestão estratégica numa organização social – estudo de casoPublication . Santos, Paula Marques; Guedes, AnabelaEste artigo científico tem por objeto a análise da implementação de ferramentas de gestão estratégica nas organizações sociais, através de um estudo de caso de uma organização social portuguesa. Nesse sentido a questão de partida do nosso trabalho é: “Quais as ferramentas de gestão estratégica mais relevantes para garantir a sustentabilidade de uma organização de economia social (OES)?”. Desta forma, foram definidos objetivos de estudo, tais como, conseguir demonstrar que aplicações/ferramentas podem facilitar o trabalho de gestão; conseguir verificar a importância da gestão de recursos humanos; verificar a importância do plano estratégico; e perceber de que forma o meio envolvente influencia a gestão da OES. A par deste estudo, foi realizada uma pesquisa sobre conceitos fundamentais que permitem um maior conhecimento sobre o tema, como gestão estratégica, sustentabilidade financeira e gestão de recursos humanos, foi ainda necessário a recolha de dados junto da organização escolhida, tendo sido aplicada uma checklist como ferramenta de recolha e sistematização de dados, além da análise da documentação interna da mesma OES.
- A importância das Instituições de Ensino Superior – o caso da ESTGLPublication . Guedes, Anabela; Marques Dos Santos, Paula; Antunes, Sandra Maria GouveiaAs instituições de ensino têm como principal incumbência fazer cumprir o artigo 26ª da Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos e estão, por isso, obrigadas a cumprir o desafio que têm inerente à sua missão. Mais do que qualquer outra atividade institucionalizada, é a educação o setor que mais pessoas envolve. Fonte de desenvolvimento social e económico incontestável, as Instituições de Ensino Superior têm como principal objetivo a qualificação de alto nível de todos os que as frequentam e são, por isso, responsáveis por melhorar as competências e preparar os jovens para a vida ativa. Inserida na região de Lamego, a ESTGL, uma unidade orgânica do Instituto Politécnico de Viseu, é uma instituição de ensino superior igual a tantas outras neste país que pretende cumprir a missão para a qual foi criada e é uma fonte de desenvolvimento social e económico da região de Lamego. Este artigo tem como objetivo refletir em relação à missão das instituições do ensino superior e à evolução da ESTGL desde que entrou em funcionamento, no ano letivo de 2000/2001, até aos dias de hoje.
- Os objetivos do milénio – os resultados de 2015 e prospetiva para 2030Publication . Marques Dos Santos, Paula; Antunes, Sandra; Guedes, AnabelaO presente artigo pretende desenvolver uma análise crítica das metas alcançadas em relação aos 8 Objetivos do Milénio (ODM), inicialmente traçados no ano de 2000, apreciados os resultados relatados no balanço de 2015. Pretendemos, adicionalmente, perceber de que forma os 8 objetivos inicialmente previstos deram lugar aos 17 novos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), e qual a sua repercussão nas ações enquadradas ao nível da Agenda 2030. A proposta de análise é geograficamente circunscrita ao espaço da União Europeia. A metodologia adotada enquadra a exploração bibliográfica, suportada por técnicas de análise documental e de conteúdo, sendo a investigação essencialmente de tipo descritivo. Os resultados esperados serão, na lógica de um paper review, elucidativos dos progressos alcançados e dos fracassos registados, contribuindo para um conhecimento mais apurado da temática.
